Adult Learning Lab

BPL Adult Learning Lab

In honor of its 25th Anniversary, the Patricia Freedman Literacy Academy is now the BPL Adult Learning Lab.

Since 1987, the library’s Adult Learning Lab has helped residents with instruction for lifelong learning.  Promoting literacy skills and helping individuals excel in the workforce are very important parts of the literacy program.

The Adult Learning Lab offers classes and assistance for the following:
• GED preparation
• Reading, writing and math skills
• Computer skills
• Resume writing
• Military tests
• English as a second language
• College entrance exams

Staff and Volunteers lead activities as well as tutor and mentor students to help them achieve their goals. All literacy classes are offered free and meet at the Main Library. Let us show you how we can help. Call (276) 645-8790 for more information.
